2016.07.17 米利都的阿那克西曼德

最近读的牛津1921的大论文 <The Legacy of Greece> 很学术,信息量很大,只能慢慢阅读。多亏这本书,初步认识了很多古希腊的哲学家,其中包括米利都的阿那克西曼德 (Anaximander of Miletus)。

“He announced that man must be descended from an animal of a different species. The young of most animals, he said, can find their food at once, while that of the human species requires a prolonged period of nursing. If, then =, man had been originally such as he is now, he could never had survived.” – p. 63, Philosophy, by J. Burnet, F.B.A., Professor of Greek in the University of St. Andres.

看见没有,干净简单的推理,深刻的智慧,公元前6世纪西方人类的智慧可见一斑。中国能在过去两千年一直稳坐世界第一的交椅,很大程度上得益于古希腊和罗马的衰落。

后来在网上研究了一下,发现我无意间居然还亲身经历过米利都的。友情提示,不想去乱哄哄的土耳其的话,德国人一百年前已经帮我们搬到柏林的Pergamon Museum了。
